Story

At the far end of the garden, beyond the places carefully tended, the leaves had grown together.

She used to come here in the evenings, brushing past the tall fronds to see what had opened since morning. A red bloom tucked deep in the green. A yellow flower leaning into the last of the light. There was always something she might have missed had she hurried.

Over time, the path narrowed. The garden loosened its borders. Yet the flowers returned, finding their own small openings among the leaves.

Perhaps you have known a place like this. A corner of someone’s yard. A summer remembered by its colors. Somewhere you were welcome to linger, with no one calling you back inside just yet.

Here, the red still glows against the gathering shadows, and the green holds the warmth of the day.
