Where Fire Walks

The Story

When you first look at fire, you see destruction.

It devours the forest, blackens the earth, and sends every living creature fleeing from its path. It takes without asking and leaves behind only smoke, silence, and ash.

But when you take another look, you begin to understand.

The fire lives.

It breathes with the wind. It dances across the darkness and reaches toward the sky. It does not destroy out of hatred or anger. It eats only what it needs the fallen branches, the dying trees, and the tangled undergrowth that has smothered the earth for too long.

And when it has finished, the fire lies down.

Beneath the ashes, the land is not dead. It is waiting.

The sunlight reaches the forest floor again. Seeds that slept for years awaken in the warmth. Green shoots rise through the blackened soil, stronger because of what came before. Animals return, streams run clearer, and the forest begins again.

Perhaps we are too quick to fear the things that burn away what we once knew.

Some fires come to destroy us.

But others come to free us.

They consume the pain we have carried, the memories that have trapped us, and the parts of our lives that can no longer grow. They leave us standing in the ashes, believing everything is gone.

Then, one quiet morning, something green pushes through.

And we understand that the fire was never the end of the story.

It was the beginning.
